Actually, Pb is an abbreviation for plumbum, the Latin word for lead.

The Romans made a shitload of pipes out of lead, and that's where the word "plumbing" comes from.

Basically, yeah. Marfan's is a disorder in the synthesis of fibrilins, if I remember correctly, and affects elastic and connective tissues throughout the body. I have a colleague who has it, one of the smartest mofos I know, and that's what got him interested in medicine in the first place :)
